Port Allen – The West Baton Rouge Museum is pleased to host, Behind the Barn Doors, a quarterly series offering workshops and demonstrations ranging from farm chores to blacksmithing, basket weaving, woodworking, fiber art demonstrations, and more. The next iteration will take place on Sunday, September 6, 2026 from 2-5pm. Guests are invited into the Big Red Barn on the museum’s campus to watch forging demonstrations led by our resident blacksmith, Ben Deshotels. get ready for grilling season with Ben as he forges a set of tools for the barbecue!
