Christy Benoit Castille is a member of many craft guilds such as Tatters Across Time and the International Organization of Lace, and she was inducted as a Master Folk Artist (2025) at the Natchitoches -NSU Folk Festival. She first became interested in tatting after seeing her great grandmother’s tatting shuttle and handwork. It has been her mission ever since not only to learn the craft but also to pass on the skill set and beautiful history of this traditional art form. Please note, participants should not have dexterity (arthritis or joint) issues. While these classes are designed for beginners, experienced tatters are also welcome. Space is limited, and advanced registration is required by calling the West Baton Rouge Museum at (225) 336-2422. The cost is $30. Payment may be paid in person by cash, check, or credit card.
