About The Poboy House

The Best Little Poboy House began in 1984 when Sharon and Bruce Broussard opened a small, two-person kitchen serving lunch to around 30 Port Allen locals each day. Over the years, the restaurant grew into a beloved West Baton Rouge Parish institution, moving to the corner of 6th Street and California Avenue in 2003 before being passed to the Broussards’ son, Michael, in 2008.

When the Broussard family retired in 2019, one of the restaurant’s longtime regular customers took over and reopened the business. Today, the Sanchez and Allain families continue the tradition of this family-run restaurant, preserving the old favorites while adding a fresh, kicked-up taste of their own. Dining in and takeout are available, keeping The Best Little Poboy House a local favorite for generations to come.
